Jamie graduated with a degree in environmental biology from Millersville University in Millersville, Pennsylvania in December of 2005. Originally from Allentown Pennsylvania, Jamie moved to Denver last February and spent a year working with the Mile High Youth Corps’ AmeriCorps Leadership & Conservation program before joining the Gulf Coast Recovery Crew. Jamie liked the people and the mission at MHYC, and felt that MHYC was an “awesome place.” She’s excited about going to the Gulf Coast and seeing a new part of the country, and she’s curious about the impact that a natural disaster makes on a community. Jamie is energized about the opportunity to help, and she’s looking forward to “team-bonding” and communal living. As for what’s next, Jamie hopes that she can find a job that will be equally as satisfying as her experience with Mile High Youth Corps.
